Arrayit SuperAvidin and SuperAvidin Mirror Microarray Substrate Slides contain a highly uniform tetrameric avidin treatment covalently bound to an atomically smooth glass substrate slide (1 x 25 x 76 mm), affording universal high-capacity biotin-binding surfaces for DNA and protein microarrays and many other life sciences applications that require a biotin binding surface. SuperAvidin Mirror contains a highly reflective backside mirror coating for an additional 2-10X signal enhancement. Arrayit SuperAvidin slides compatible with all standard microarrayers and scanners for optimal customer convenience.

Arrayit takes every measure to assure the quality of our Arrayit SuperAvidin Microarray Substrate Slides. The finest microarray biochip cleanroom research was used to develop this product line. Rigorous quality control monitoring on a part-by-part basis guarantees that each these products conforms to the highest industry standards.

Product Description
Arrayit SuperAvidin Microarray Substrate Slides have covalently-attached tetrameric avidin over the entire 25 x 76 mm surface of the slide for binding biotin-labeled molecules. Arrayit SuperAvidin has a high binding capacity, low background fluorescence for high signal-to-noise ratios and can be used for genomic and proteomic microarrays. The slides conform to the industry standard format (1 x 25 x 76 mm) for compatibility with all standard microarray scanners, and are packaged in slide boxes, vacuum-packed and shipped on cold packs.

Figure 1. Arrayit SuperAvidin Microarray Substrate Slides are saturated with covalently-bound tetrameric avidin protein. Each avidin tetramer on the surface is capable of binding up to four biotinylated molecules. Biotinylated proteins, DNA and other molecules can be bound to this surface to perform a variety of microarray-based binding and hybridization studies.

Short Protocol for Protein (Steps 1-7):
1. Suspend biotinylated protein samples in Protein Printing Buffer (Cat. PPB) at 0.25-1 µg/µl.
2. Print protein samples onto SuperAvidin Microarray Substrate Slides.
3. Block with SuperAvidin Blocking Buffer (Cat. ABB) and then wash and dry the printed microarrays.
4. React the processed microarrays with fluorescent samples.
5. Wash the microarrays to remove un-reacted fluorescent material.
6. Scan the microarray to produce a fluorescent image.
7. Quantitate and model the fluorescent data.

Short Protocol for DNA (Steps 1-7):
1. Suspend biotinylated DNA samples in Arrayit Micro Spotting Solution Plus (Cat. MSP).
2. Print DNA samples onto SuperAvidin Microarray Substrate Slides.
3. Block with SuperAvidin Blocking Buffer (Cat. ABB) and then wash and dry the printed microarrays.
4. Hybridize the processed microarrays with fluorescent probe.
5. Wash the microarrays to remove unreacted fluorescent probe.
6. Scan the microarray to produce a fluorescent image.
7. Quantitate and model the fluorescent data.
