Introduction
Arrayit Fluorescent and Colorimetric DNA and Protein Microarray Platforms empower customers with advanced solutions for miniaturized and multiplexed microarray assays. Miniaturizing and multiplexing traditional laboratory assays reduces cost and increases the accuracy of the assays. When multiple analytes are processed in a microarray format, each analyte that binds to a capture agent on the surface of the microarray is subjected to exactly the same reaction and processing conditions, rather than each analyte being reacted in a separate well for example. This reduces variability when multiple samples are analyzed. Additionally, the microarray format uses much lower target and probe volumes, which increase the concentration of molecules in solution as well as the capture agents on the surface. Higher concentrations mean greater detectivity and sensitivity and faster processing times. Microarray formats are much less expensive than traditional assays because they reduce expensive reagent consumption. Arrayit foresees that microarray assays will replace all traditional macroscopic assays over time based on cost considerations alone. Arrayit custom platforms are capable of performing a multitude of assays including:
- cDNA-fluorescent cDNA
- oligonucleotide-fluorescent cDNA
- oligonucleotide-fluorescent genomic DNA
- enzyme-linked immunosorptive assay (ELISA)
- protein-protein
- protein-drug
- antibody-antigen
- antigen-antibody
- protein-DNA
- protein-RNA
- protein-carbohydrate
