Arrayit offers innovative hardware solutions for creating multi-well microarrays on single glass substrate slides (1 x 25 x 76 mm) for rapid testing of many patient research specimens at once. Reaction cassettes containing 8, 16, 24, 48 or 96 wells utilize silicone gaskets to create individual reaction wells encompassing the printed microarrays on the glass slides. The upper portion of the Hybridization Cassette allows the introduction of individual samples, making these cassettes ideal for DNA and protein microarray research and high-throughput testing. The AHC4X8L Hybridization Cassette (Cat. AHC4X8L) shown above has a 150-300 µl well volume. Widely used cassettes such as AHC4X16 and AHC4X24 have smaller wells and permit the use of smaller sample volumes.

When ordering the MMHS110V and MMHS220V Hybridization Stations, make sure to specify which hybridization cassettes you will be using to make sure we include the correct instrument heating and cooling block. Heating and cooling blocks are easily switched using the four mounting screws in the corners of the blocks. Reaction cassettes are easily sealed with foil seals to prevent evaporation during long reactions. Wash using Microarray Wash Trays and a plate shaker.

Troubleshooting Tips
Slides not seating correctly
in the base - use a fine forceps to press down on the end of the slide when
tightening the locating screw.
Slides stick to the gasket
when opening the cassette – gently re-tighten the slide locating screws
after use before opening the cassette.

Hybridization Cassette AHC1X16 contains a base for the slide, 16-well
silicone gasket and a top portion the holds the gasket. The AHC1X16 cassette
has a total of 16 wells that are 7.5 x 7.5 mm in size and configured in a 2 x
8 pattern at 9 mm centers, with a capacity for one glass substrate slide (1 x
25 x 76 mm). The well openings on the
top of the cassette are 5.5 mm x 5.5 mm. The hybridization cassette utilizes
a compression-fit silicone gasket to separate the microarray reaction areas,
eliminating the need for contaminating adhesives and inks. The cassette is
made of durable, flat, precision-machined aluminum to ensure proper alignment
and a leak-proof fit. The top of the cassette is embossed with a 1-2 number
panel across the top and an A-H letter panel down the left side for easy
identification of each of the 16 wells. Each AHC1X16 cassette includes an
anodized aluminum top and bottom, square cassette wells, a 2 x 8 well
silicone gasket and no septa mat for sealing the wells during use. Wells can
