Repeated up and down cycles dispense a fixed buffer volume through each of the 8 dispense nozzles. The dispense volume (set to 150 µl in this photo) is defined by the position of the threaded volumetric set pin.

The dispense volume can be adjusted by emptying the 1,000 ml buffer reservoir, pressing downward on the spring-loaded dispense head with your left hand, and turning the volumetric set pin counterclockwise with your right hand as shown here. Once the set pin is re-positioned to a lesser or greater volume position by moving it up and down in the dispense head channel, re-tighten the set pin by turning it clockwise making sure not to over-tighten.

Figure 4. Arrayit PipetteIt™ 8-Channel High-Speed Dispenser piston lock ensures proper piston positioned during use. The dispense piston can be replaced by moving the dispense lock into the open position as shown here, installing a new piston and returning the piston lock to the closed position as shown in Figure 2. The piston lock should be set to the closed position at all times while operating this device.

Storage Conditions

Arrayit PipetteIt Microarray Dispensers are manufactured at high precision and should be stored and operated at room temperature (20-25°C) for best results. Avoid exposure to temperature extremes, solvents and contaminated buffers and keep clean at all times. Use white nitrile gloves at all times when handling and operating this device. Rinse with distilled water and dry with a cleanroom wipe for extended storage.
